Following much support and campaigning by the local community, Two Mile CNS opened in September 2017, under the patronage of Kerry ETB and is the first such school in Co. Kerry.
“My vision for Two Mile Community National School is to create a school which has the highest standards of teaching and learning, where children are guided to become lifelong learners. In this school children will experience a very caring, child-centred environment which respects diversity and equality. The principal, teachers and management will work together in partnership with parents and the local community in delivering high quality education which nurtures all aspects of the child.”
Principal, Two Mile Community N.S.
We are looking forward to welcoming the junior classes back to in-school learning on Monday 1st March. You all have worked so hard during remote learning and both pupils and staff are looking forward to the return – Nathan’s news says it all!
Remote teaching and learning on Teams will continue for 3rd – 6th classes until 15th March, pending review by NPHET/Gov.
Since returning to school in September the children in Two Mile CNS have been developing their digital skills and using Microsoft Teams to access homework and upload assignments.
During this period of school closure, the transfer from live school to remote learning has been seamless. The children access their work on Teams Assignments and meet their teachers and classmates every day on Teams Meetings. There is a high level of engagement and children continue to work on all their subjects by accessing resources and working at their own pace.
Well done to all the children who are working so hard and to the parents who are supporting them. Ideally we would all like to be in school, but it is great that we can see each other every day and that everyone is keeping up with their school work!
